Kristin Fischer will join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. She is a reporter covering everything from NASA as well as Space Force, Space Force and commercial space companies to the advent of space tourism. Kristin has a background in the field of space as the grandchild and daughter of NASA astronauts. In the past five years, she has been covering space policy under the Trump and Biden Administrations for FOX News. During that time she also reported on two impeachment trials for the president, the 2020 presdiential campaign, and two attempts by the administration to stop the pandemic of coronavirus. She also went on trips with President Trump and Vice President Biden often. This included a secret visit to Afghanistan. Prior to joining the network in the year 2015, Kristin spent nearly a decade working her way up through local TV news markets in Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she won an Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin used her experience in front of the camera to launch Field Mouse Films. The company was a specialist in documentary films and was a favorite of corporate clients like Uber, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism at Boston University. Kristin lives with husband, daughter and three-year-old son in Washington, D.C.
